Location | BYDGOSZCZ – THE CITY OF SPORT AND MUSIC

Bydgoszcz is an attractive city with a rich (over 660 years) history. The city’s ideal location and an international airport as well as good communications and dynamic development all result in a steady increase in the number of businesspeople and tourists coming to the city.

The places worth recommending and visiting include: charming Bydgoszcz Venice, the Mill Island, granaries, churches or Art Nouveau tenements located along the city’s main streets creating its unique atmosphere. The special attraction is the Bydgoszcz Canal with sluices which is a key point on the international water route E-70 through Odra, Noteć, Bydgoszcz Canal, Brda and Vistula, connecting Eastern and Western Europe. An attractive means of public transport is “the water tram”. It comprises an almost 100-years old ship and a solar vessel powered by solar energy.

The city is also famous for its sports and music “character”. Bydgoszcz has hosted such international sports events as Speedway Grand Prix, basketball, volleyball and handball matches, track and field competitions or rowing competitions. Music lovers are attracted by regular festivals: Festival of Premiers, Bydgoszcz Musical Impressions, Bydgoszcz Opera Festival or Musica Antiqua Europae Orientalis.

Bydgoszcz  is also referred to as a “green city” as it is abundant with green squares and parks. The largest park is called “Leśny Park Kultury i Wypoczynku in Myślęcinek” – it is a walking spot and leisure area covering 820 ha and comprising the Garden of Polish Fauna, Botanical Gardens, narrow-gauge railway as well as a Horse Recreation Centre, a track for extreme downhill cycling, Skate Park, mini golf courses or, in the Winter, ski lift.

Bydgoszcz is a hospitable city where everyone is sure to find something for themselves.
