Bydgoszcz
Bydgoszcz is an attractive city which is more than 670 years old. Its excellent location, an international airport, good transport connections and dynamic development make Bydgoszcz increasingly popular among business travellers and tourists.
Top attractions:
Charming Bydgoszcz Venice, the Mill Island, granaries, churches and Art Nouveau buildings along the main streets create a unique atmosphere.
The Bydgoszcz Canal with water gates is also a noteworthy attraction. It is a key point on the E-70 international waterway leading through the Oder River, Noteć River, the Bydgoszcz Canal, Brda River and Vistula River and connecting Eastern and Western Europe. One of the most popular tourist attractions in the summer are water tram tours. There are three vessels to choose from: a ship which is almost 100 years old and two solar vessels powered by solar power. We also recommend canoeing. It is a great way to get to know Bydgoszcz and its surroundings from a different perspective and spend your time actively.
Some of the other places worth visiting include: EXPLOSEUM: DAG Fabrik Bromberg – an open-air museum of industrial architecture featuring an underground tourist route and the Arms Factory Museum, the Museum of Soap and History of Dirt, a water tower with the Museum of Waterworks and the Museum of Pharmacy.
The city is famous for its sports and musical culture. Bydgoszcz has been a venue for various international sports events – basketball, volleyball and handball matches as well as athletics, rowing and speedway competitions. Music lovers are attracted by regular festivals: Festival of New Dramaturgies, Bydgoszcz Musical Impressions, Bydgoszcz Opera Festival and Musica Antiqua Europae Orientalis.
Bydgoszcz is also called ‘the green city’ because of its squares and parks. The biggest one is the ‘Myślęcinek’ Forest Park of Culture and Leisure – a popular place for walks and leisure. The park spans 820 ha and comprises a zoo, a botanical garden, a rockery, a horse riding centre, an extreme bike track, a skatepark, minigolf fields and, in winter, a ski lift.
Bydgoszcz is a hospitable city. There is something for everyone to enjoy in Bydgoszcz.
